12 Days of Discovery: From Coastal Negombo to Bustling Colombo

Day 1 – Arrival in Negombo

Your journey begins as you land at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA). After a warm welcome and airport assistance, you’ll transfer to nearby Negombo. Check into your hotel, take a deep breath of coastal air, and relax. Overnight in Negombo.

Day 2 – Negombo to Dambulla (Gardens & Caves)

After breakfast, set off for Dambulla. En route, pause at the serene Henarathgoda Botanical Garden in Gampaha. As evening approaches, 

climb to the magnificent Rangiri Dambulla Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with ancient Buddha images. Overnight in historic Dambulla.

Day 3 – Dambulla (Rock Fortress & Night Walk)

Morning brings an ascent of the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, also known as Lion Rock. After a relaxing afternoon at your hotel,

 visit the tranquil Sam Popham’s Arboretum. As night falls, enjoy a guided wilderness walk—keep your eyes peeled for the elusive slender loris. Overnight in Dambulla.

Day 4 – Dambulla to Kandy (Reserves & the Tooth Relic)

Travel from Dambulla to the cultural heart of Kandy. Along the way, explore the peaceful Menikdena Archaeological Reserve and Arboretum, then stop at Nalanda Gedige, famously considered the geographical center of Sri Lanka. In the evening, pay homage at the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic. Overnight in pleasant Kandy.

Day 5 – Kandy to Nuwara Eliya (Gardens, Falls & Tea)

Start your day with a stroll through the sprawling Peradeniya Botanical Garden. Then, wind your way up to the misty hills of Nuwara Eliya. 

En route, admire Ramboda Waterfall, and stop at a working tea plantation and factory to learn the art of making world-famous Ceylon tea. Overnight in cool, misty Nuwara Eliya.

Day 6 – Nuwara Eliya ("Little England")

Today is a leisurely tour through "Little England." Drive past colonial-era architecture, relax in Victoria Park, and take a peaceful stroll through the 

lush Hakgala Botanical Garden. The rest of the day is yours to soak up the alpine atmosphere. Overnight in Nuwara Eliya.

Day 7 – Nuwara Eliya to Ella (Scenic Train & Arches)

An early morning adventure: board the legendary scenic train from Nanu Oya to Ella. Marvel at rolling tea estates and misty valleys. Upon arrival, visit the 

iconic Nine Arches Bridge. In the evening, enjoy a true taste of Sri Lanka with a culinary experience at a local home or eatery. Overnight in enchanting Ella.

Day 8 – Ella to Hambantota (Sunrise Trek & Dry Zone Garden)

Wake up early for a morning trek to Little Adam’s Peak, where panoramic views reward your effort. Then transfer south to Hambantota. After checking in and relaxing, 

spend your late afternoon exploring the unique Dry Zone Botanic Garden. Overnight in charming Hambantota.

Day 9 – Hambantota to Galle (Botanical Gardens & Arboretum Walk)

Before leaving Hambantota, visit the lush Mirijjawila Botanical Garden. Then continue to the historic coastal city of Galle. In the afternoon,

 join a guided walking tour through the serene Kottawa Arboretum (Kottawa Wana Arana). Overnight in legendary Galle.

Day 10 – Galle to Colombo via Bentota (Fort, Gardens & Arboretum)

Morning exploration of the iconic Galle Fort, a living monument by the sea. Then, transfer toward Colombo. En route, stop at the enchanting Brief 

Garden by Bevis Bawa. In the evening, visit the Dilmah Conservation One Earth Arboretum before settling into bustling Colombo for the night.

Day 11 – Colombo (Relaxation & Wet Zone Gardens)

Enjoy a relaxed day in Colombo. Take advantage of your hotel’s facilities, then visit the lush Seethawaka Wet Zone Botanic Gardens.

 Return to your hotel for a final overnight stay in the capital.

Day 12 – Departure from Colombo to BIA

After breakfast, transfer directly from Colombo to Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) for your departure flight.
